High quality hardened steelCombination wrenches

Le pouvoir des clés mixtes MOB se tient au cœur de notre savoir-faire de forgeron et la maîtrise de notre technique de trempe.
The power of our combination wrenches lies at the heart of our blacksmithing know-how and the mastery of our quenching technique. The result, a perfectly resistant steel, associated with the dimensional precision of the opening by broaching.
A range suitable for intensive use
  • Resistance superior to ISO standards.
  • Opening by broaching.
  • More ergonomic satin chrome finish.
  • Ergonomics and optimized handling.

More resistant wrenches to keep your tools longer and work in good conditions.

The power of MOB combination wrenches : their longevity

Born blacksmiths, we attach great importance to the choice of steel. To design wrenches that stand up to intensive use and heavy stress, we select steels, forge and harden our combination wrenches according to the expected mechanical properties:
  • For a high degree of hardness that will not damage the tool over time. We work on our hardening techniques to greatly increase hardness. But not all steels can withstand hardening. The addition of carbon to the iron is therefore essential. It hardens the iron and increases its tensile strength.
  • Elasticity and impact resistance. The disadvantage of hard steel is that it is brittle and breakable. So, to maintain high hardness while increasing impact resistance and the ability to deform, it is necessary to use special steels, alloyed with other metals with complementary properties: Chromium, which increases strength and elasticity and favors hardening. And Vanadium, a deoxidizer that produces homogeneous, fine-grained steels.

MOB manufacturing secret, the dosage of each of these elements and the heat treatment parameters (duration, temperature, tempering, etc.) carried out in our workshops, enable us to produce keys whose strength far exceeds ISO standard specifications.

The precision of MOB combination wrenches: broaching

A well-adjusted wrench is one that doesn't mat the nuts, preserves assemblies and installations, and is less likely to damage itself. To obtain precise dimensions and a quality surface finish, all our key openings are broached in our workshops. This technique enables us to obtain very precise dimensions with a quality surface finish.

THE ADDITION OF A PROTECTION PROFILE

The profile of the polygonal heads on our wrenches has been specially designed to avoid damaging the corners of the nuts. When force is applied, the pressure is not exerted on the corners but on the sides of the nut. Another advantage is that it mechanically limits the risk of breakage. A rusty, loose or matted nut can therefore be tightened thanks to this profile.

satin-finish chrome For ease of use

At MOB, we give priority to ergonomics and efficiency. Are our keys less gleaming than others? That's only to be expected...

Our technicians discovered that the mirror-finish chrome reflected 100% of the light, causing localized glare. This is not a trivial matter, especially when you're performing a precision task requiring maximum visual acuity.

To eliminate this glare effect, we prefer a satin chrome finish. A conscious choice! We've also designed an ergonomic “soft” key body to ensure a good grip. Cold-forged, the markings and reliefs are soft for maximum tactile comfort and easy cleaning.

Our range of MOB combination and ratchet wrenches

The combination wrench

Two-in-one, the most common model:

  • an eye head, which exerts its force on the 6 flats of the nut, for fast, firm recovery without damaging the corners.
  • a simple, powerful open-end head, ideal for screwing or unscrewing nuts and bolts in areas that are difficult to access with another type of head.

Most popular sizes: 10-13-17-19 mm, although bolt-on sizes are evolving.

The open-end or flat wrench

With its two forks of different sizes, the open-end wrench is the compact model ideal for mobile maintenance. That's half the number of wrenches in your toolbox... Nevertheless, they are still much less widely used than combination wrenches.

The ratchet combination wrench

The ratchet combination wrench saves you precious time. The ratchet allows you to maneuver quickly on approach for faster tightening. With a recovery angle of 5° (6° for sizes 8 and 9).

The integrated reversing system prevents any risk of accidental reversal.

The fork head gives you all the power you need to tighten the final clamping phase.

A practical wrench holder for mobile maintenance

For when you're on the move, or need to carry and use a set of wrenches while keeping a place for each one, we've created a particularly compact holder. A case that lets you find the key you need at a glance, arranged in ascending order.
