THE POWER OF THE STEEL VICE: ITS DOUBLE CLAMPING SYSTEM

To make your life easier, the MOB vice has not one but two clamping systems, which are doubly practical:

  • A classic tightening with a removable sliding handle.
  • A ½'' square at the front, exclusive to MOB, which allows the vice to be tightened with a ratchet.

Thanks to the ½'' square at the front, it is much easier to clamp bulky parts and work in difficult positions. When a bulky part advances forward it can prevent or interfere with the rotation of the handle. It then becomes impossible to maneuver. Simply remove it and use a ½” ratchet to tighten.

To go faster, use a screwdriver or a drill with a ½” adapter. For controlled tightening, you can replace the ratchet with a ½” torque wrench.

Our vise is also equipped with a hardened anvil table, with excellent flatness for straightening small parts or doing upsetting work.

A MOB QUALITY VICE

  • The steel chosen is a high quality CF45 Manganese Silicon alloy steel. The Durlach vice is forged and tempered, which makes it extremely resistant. A symbol of our blacksmithing expertise, forging steel offers greater resistance than cast iron and structural uniformity.
  • Unground widened welds to preserve their integrity.
  • Milled and induction hardened jaws (52 - 58 HCR) for more resistance. 
  • A jaw made in 2 parts, welded at 360°, for perfect parallelism and the same height. Parallelism is checked during manufacture.
  • A movable jaw adjuster that keeps the vise looking new longer.

PRECISE AND POWERFUL TIGHTENING 

The design of the MOB professional vice offers you very good clamping performance :

  • Parallelism is checked during production. The opening is smooth.
  • A 200mm opening for a 140mm vice.
  • A two-speed trapezoidal thread auger (square worm thread). The system is protected from contamination.
  • A clamping force of 5 tons. 
  • Ribbed jaws for a good hold of the parts. You can add removable jaws, so as not to damage the parts (aluminum, fiberglass, rubber).
  • A slide with graduated scale to give a point of reference.
  • Rounded edges for better ergonomics.

GAIN IN MOBILITY

The base has holes for attaching directly to the workbench or for adding a rotating base. A rotating base the base offers significant mobility. It allows easy orientation of the vice at 360°, for example when it comes to working very long parts.

THE SPECIAL PIPE CLAMP VIce

For all clamping work on cylindrical parts and tubes, we have developed a special pipe clamp version. Under the straight bit, this model has a curved bit, special tube.
